We are now teaching not only low angle paddle technique, but also high angle. We have seen many students
naturally moving to this style of paddling and now we are going to show our students how to do it right.
Using a low angle paddle with a high angle stroke it very unbalanced so we have gone to the expense of
buying some high quality high angle paddles to let all of our students try them out. What are the
benefits
to using a high angle stroke, it drives the kayak straighter and faster, with less need for correction
strokes and it puts a little bit more strength in your stroke. The low angle stroke is a bit more
easy on the body and people can usually paddle for a little longer. We feel though that people should
use the angle that they feel most comfortable with making it important to learn both techniques with
the right paddle.
The Kayak Clinic is a kayaking school that is here to provide quality instruction for all seeking quality instruction. We base our classes on the beginner who has never stepped foot in a kayak to the intermediate kayaker who wants to hone there skills. Our classes are taught by American Canoe Association certified instructors and we use the best quality equipment to make sure you get the best possible instruction in the Dallas/Fortworth Metroplex.

We are teaching several classes right now. Our most popular class is our Touring Class. While there are a number of kayak instructors that teach in Texas, we are one of the very few who bases our classes on the touring or recreational paddler to maximize skill that is best suited for open water or flat water, instead of teaching classes as a stepping stone solely to white water. Our touring class is for beginner paddlers or for people who are just wanting to improve there strokes or learn some rescue. Our Advanced Touring Class is either the next class in our series or for the intermediate kayaker that wants to learn some advanced strokes, and some other rescue. During our wet seasons we will have Intro to River Paddling and white water classes.
